Baker scheduled to speak to churches in Lubbock

Episcopal churches in Lubbock, Texas, have invited Professor Tony Baker to speak on September 7 – 8. His topic is "A People of the Book? Reclaiming Scripture as Episcopalians."

If Christians can learn, week after week, to read the story of Jesus of Nazareth—to love what we read, to be loved by what we read—then surely the future of the church would look a bit more hopeful. ("Learning to Read the Gospel Again," Christianity Today, December 2011)

Details of the event hosted by Canterbury at Texas Tech, St. Christopher's, St. Stephen's, and St. Paul's-on-the- Plains Episcopal churches in Lubbock.
