Free Backstory Preaching Seminar: “Six Tips to Preach in a Divided Culture”

May 4, 2017 @ 5:30 am - 12:00 pm

You are invited to participate in Backstory Preaching’s interactive seminar “Six Tips to Preach in a Divided Culture” on Thursday, May 4th. The first-ever online preaching formation community for Mainline Protestant and Roman Catholic clergy, Backstory Preaching offers online courses as well as a year-long mentorship program to help seminarians and lay ministers with their ongoing education in how to preach more effectively.

In this free, one-hour seminar, the Rev. Lisa Cressman, Founder and Steward of Backstory Preaching and Adjunct Professor of Preaching at Seminary of the Southwest, will lead a session on how to preach to congregations in today’s divisive political climate. Using the six points of prayer, empathy, scripture as mirror, stories, the Way of the Cross, and authenticity, attendees will gain knowledge of how to approach their preaching with courage and creativity. Seminary of the Southwest is honored to offer this to our alumni for their continued growth as ministers who are faithful, imaginative, and skilled.

Free to the first 24 individuals to sign up, this webinar will be held twice to accommodate for full time as well as bivocational priests. Times and links to sign up are as follows:
