Church history faculty hire announced

The Board of Trustees of Seminary of the Southwest approved the nomination of Dr. Dan Joslyn-Siemiatkoski to the faculty at their February 6 meeting on the campus in Austin, Texas.

Dr. Joslyn-Siemiatkoski will be associate professor of church history, and his tenure at Southwest will begin in Fall 2014.

“I am thrilled to be welcoming Dan Joslyn-Siemiatkoski to our faculty,” said Southwest’s Academic Dean Scott Bader-Saye. “His experience forming church leaders at Church Divinity School of the Pacific will be invaluable as he transitions into a similar role of teaching and mentorship at Southwest. We look forward to welcoming Dan and his family into our community.”

Dr. Joslyn-Siemiatkoski received his Ph.D. from Boston College in 2005. He is the author of Christian Memories of the Maccabean Martyrs and is currently working on A Christian Commentary of Mishnah Avot. He has served as associate professor of church history at Church Divinity School of the Pacific (CDSP) in Berkeley, California where he has been on the faculty since Fall 2005.
