Booher Library Meeting Room Guidelines
The Booher Library offers a variety of meeting spaces to further the mission of the seminary. All of these spaces require reservations. Reservations may be made in person at the Booher Library Welcome Desk or by contacting the library at 512-478-5212 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Any individual with a Booher Library card may reserve the Black Room and Carrel C. Use of Carrel D and the Omega Room is limited to currently enrolled students.
Official seminary events will receive first priority in meeting space bookings. Once these events are scheduled, the rooms will be open for reservation according to the following schedule:
- Reservations for the fall semester open on the first day the library is open in August.
- Reservations for the spring semester open on the first day the library is open in January.
- Reservations for the summer semester open on the first day the library is open in May.
If a reservation is no longer needed, a notice of cancellation to the library is appreciated.
Judge Charles Black Room
The Black Room is intended for small events or meetings of at least two people. The room may be reserved for an event or group for up to three hours at a time, one session a week. For example, a study group may reserve the room from 1pm – 4pm every Tuesday for the entire fall semester, but that group may not meet in the room on any other day that week. The Black Room is not meant for individual use.
Carrel C may be reserved in advance for up to three hours at a time, one session a week. For example, a student may reserve Carrel C for every Thursday afternoon, 3pm – 6pm for the spring semester. Once the reserved session has ended, the person using Carrel C must inquire at the Welcome Desk regarding the room’s availability before extending his/her session.
This room is intended for individual use or a meeting of two people. Carrel D is a daily use carrel, meaning it can only be reserved on the day of use for a session lasting up to three hours. For example, on Monday morning a student may reserve Carrel D for later that day. Once the reserved session has ended, the person using Carrel D must inquire at the Welcome Desk regarding the room’s availability before extending his/her session.
The Omega Room
This room is intended primarily for Center for Writing and Creative Expression (CWCE) walk-in hours and scheduled meetings of CWCE tutors and students. When this room is not in use, it may be reserved for daily use only along the same guidelines as Carrel D.
Exceptions may be made to these guidelines but only with prior approval of the library director.
