Kittredge to deliver 2012 Snell Sermon

The Reverend Cynthia Briggs Kittredge, Professor of New Testament and Academic Dean at Seminary of the Southwest, will give the Snell Sermon on November 4 at 4:30pm: “God in Flesh – Incarnation & Imagination.” She will also preach at 11:00am Choral Eucharist.

Bishop George Snell, 8th Bishop of Toronto, a noted preacher and a member of the Cathedral community in retirement, endowed these lectures out of his deep concern for the theological education of the laity.

Five Revelatory Meals in the Gospel of John

The gospel of John communicates in a medium of dialogue, relationship, repetition, and irony.  God’s abiding with us and offering life is displayed in vivid scenes of everyday life.  We will explore the sequence of ordinary meals that develop in extraordinary directions.  When these uncommon events are read together, they illumine the experience of the faith. – Dr. Kittredge
