Statement from Dean Kittredge on gulf coast disaster

Dear Friends of the Seminary of the Southwest Community:

May God’s Spirit guard and strengthen us as we face what the National Weather Service describes as an “unprecedented” event.

We pray for all those endangered and dislocated by flood waters – many family members, friends, and colleagues of those of us in Austin, those whose lives are closely linked with ours. We give thanks for many who are working to provide shelter, food, and funds to assist those who suffer.

As the rains continue to fall and we await what is revealed once waters recede, please know that all of us at Seminary of the Southwest – whether alum, friend, student, faculty, staff or family – stand with all those affected. By the grace of God, may we extend our arms to embrace all who need it in the coming weeks and months.

Please consider a gift to Episcopal Relief and Development as they work to provide relief to those affected by the storm:
