March 16 Update
This evening, the White House issued The President’s Coronavirus Guidelines for America: 15 Days to Slow the Spread. These guidelines were developed by the U.S. Public Health Service.
In addition to the CDC protective measures we must all be taking, the guidelines provide that all Americans should:
- Avoid social gatherings in groups of more than 10 people;
- Avoid eating or drinking at bars, restaurants, and food courts; use drive-thru, pickup, or delivery options;
- Avoid discretionary travel; and
- Do not visit nursing homes, retirement and long-term care facilities unless to provide critical assistance.
Authoritative guidance is constantly evolving in response to the pandemic. In view of today’s guidelines, social gatherings on or inside campus facilities, including residential student housing and the pool at College Courts, shall not be in groups of more than 10 people.
The U.S. Public Health Service is urging all Americans to observe today’s guidelines as a means of substantially slowing the spread of COVID-19. Modeling calm and informed behavior, we ask all members of the seminary community to strictly observe these guidelines, and those which may follow in the days ahead, remaining faithful in prayer to our values and responsible to the wider human family.
