Worship Plan for School year 2021

>>Return to Virtual Response Home Page

Gathering for worship is a fundamental part of our community at Southwest, so it is with joy that I share with you the plans that the administration, with consultation with the Worship Committee, have drafted for a pattern of worship under the restrictions of the pandemic.

Four days a week (M-Th) there will be two official seminary services, with one being held in-person outdoors in the Motte, and the other remotely via Zoom.

Here is the weekly schedule, with more details below:

Monday

9:30 Mid-morning Prayer Service and Assembly (Motte)

5pm Spanish Language Evening Prayer (remote)

Tuesday

9:30 Morning Prayer (remote)

5pm Evensong (Motte)

Wednesday

9:30 Choral Morning Prayer (Motte)

5pm Evening Prayer (remote)

Thursday

9:30 Morning Prayer (remote)

5:30 Evening Prayer (Order of Worship for the Evening with simple “Rite III” Evening Prayer) (Motte)

The Worship Committee is planning how services will be provided on the Motte, including if that service can be reliably livestreamed. Expect detailed information soon regarding social distancing expectations for those that attend.

For the ‘remote’ services, as we begin the semester these will be held similar to how we hosted in the spring: with participants and ‘attendees’ experiencing the service via a Zoom meeting. Our hopes are to eventually host those from within Christ Chapel, but we want to plan this cautiously as we navigate this new and unique situation.

We ask that we all carry with us a spirit of grace and improvisation as we work to reshape our customs and routines. We are certain that we will have to re-examine and re-imagine many ways we gather as the semester progresses. Please know that we have the utmost confidence and faith in this community to walk this path together and with God.
