Sixty-fourth Commencement celebrates graduates, trustee and honorary degree recipients

Seminary of the Southwest held its sixty-fourth Commencement on Tuesday morning, May 12 at St. Matthew's Episcopal Church in Austin.

The seminary awarded master's degrees to 29 students completing the master of divinity, master's in religion, master's in counseling, master's in chaplaincy and pastoral care and master's in spiritual formation. Four students received diplomas in Anglican studies or in theological studies.

Out of the Waters of Baptism

We had just arrived back at my son and daughter-in-law’s house after the baptism of their first child at five months of age. On my mobile, I noticed messages from two of my cousins. Their mother, my mother’s only sister, my last surviving aunt of her generation, had died unexpectedly and peacefully the day before at the age of 97 years.
