The Rev. Micah Jackson, the Bishop John Elbridge Hines Associate Professor of Preaching and Director of Comprehensive Wellness at Seminary of the Southwest, will be a featured speaker at this year’s Festival of Homiletics in San Antonio on May 15-19, 2017.
The Festival of Homiletics is a week-long conference that brings together a wide variety of outstanding preachers and professors of homiletics to inspire a discourse about preaching, worship and culture. The goal of this annual ecumenical gathering is to engage theologically the practices of preaching and worship, as well as issues related to congregations in the 21st century. Individual preachers are invited to consider various styles and methodologies of preaching in the hopes that they will renew their faith and refresh their spirits through engaging worship, lectures and workshops.
The impressive list of speakers this year include Nadia Bolz-Weber, Barbara Brown Taylor, Brian McLaren, Amy Butler, Yvette Flunder, David Lose, Otis Moss III, Luke Powery, Bishop Vashti Murphy McKenzie, Craig Satterlee, and Will Willimon, among many others.
