The Rev. Lecia Brannon begins new ministry with role on Southwest’s Advancement Team

Seminary of the Southwest is pleased to announce that the Rev. Lecia Diaz Brannon has joined the staff of Southwest in a new ministry role as Director of Development. The Rev. Brannon will be an integral member of the seminary’s Institutional Advancement team, concentrating on relationships and important fundraising with Episcopal parishes across the country.

“Lecia brings a pastoral heart and passion for the seminary’s mission. I am delighted to welcome Lecia to the ministry of development,” said the Very Rev. Cynthia Briggs Kittredge, Dean and President. Dean Kittredge announced Brannon’s hire at the Southwest Alumni Breakfast at the Diocese of Texas Clergy Conference on October 25th.

Dean Kittredge announces the Rev. Lecia Brannon’s appointment at the Diocese of Texas Clergy Conference.

“With her background as an alumna and priest, Lecia will lend an important understanding of the broader Southwest community to our relationship building efforts with clergy and congregations. We’re thrilled to have her part of our team,” said Charley Scarborough, Vice President for Institutional Advancement.

Most recently, Lecia was rector for St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in Cypress, Texas. Prior to St. Mary’s, she served as associate rector in Calvary Episcopal Church, Richmond, Texas, and on parish staff at St. James Episcopal Church in Paso Robles, CA before attending seminary.  She is a 2016 Master of Divinity graduate of Southwest.  Rev. Brannon and her husband, Matthew, are looking forward to relocating to Austin, as she begins service in a philanthropic ministry for Southwest – especially for her clergy colleagues, fellow alumni and other loyal supporters of Southwest.
