- The Federal Direct Student Loan is disbursed directly to the student account.
- If the loan funds credited exceeds the amount of tuition, fees, on campus housing, and other authorized charges the school assesses, Southwest must refund the credit balance to the student unless the student have requested to have loan funds retained in their student account to cover future expenses.
- Students who did not authorize Southwest to retain their credit balance will receive a refund check. The refund will be issued by the business office not later than 14 days after the first day of class or the date the credit balance occurred after the first day of class.
