On November 21, the Rt. Rev. C. Andrew Doyle, IX Bishop of Texas, announced that the Rt. Rev. Brian Seage, Class of 1997, had agreed to serve as assistant bishop in the Diocese of Texas’ North Region. Bishop Seage served as Bishop of the Diocese of Mississippi from 2014 to 2024, and has also served as a member of the Southwest Board of Trustees.
“Brian Seage is not only a graduate of Southwest but also a friend who has served on our board and worked for the well-being of the seminary,” said Dr. Scott Bader-Saye, dean and president. “He will provide just the leadership that is needed as the Episcopal church in the Fort Worth area continues its healing while also shifting into a new era of rebirth.”
The North Region, formerly the Diocese of Fort Worth, reunited with the Diocese of Texas in 2022 after receiving approval from that year’s 80th General Convention.
In the announcement released by Bishop Doyle, Bishop Seage shared, “the Diocese of Texas is an important leader within The Episcopal Church and beyond. I’m delighted for the opportunity to practice ministry with so many faithful Christians in the North Region and throughout the diocese. I look forward to working together to make Jesus Christ known to our community and the world.”
