The Very Rev. Cynthia Briggs Kittredge, Dean and President, recently announced the appointment of Eric Scott as Seminary of the Southwest’s new Director of Communications and Marketing. In this position, he will be responsible for external and internal communications at the seminary, press relations, and the development and implementation of strategic marketing plans.
He began in this role on February 7, 2017.
Dean Kittredge noted that, “Eric was chosen after a four-month nationwide search process evaluating the qualifications of multiple talented candidates from across the region and country. His extensive professional experience in communications and fundraising, combined with his vision and enthusiasm for advancing the seminary’s communications program and mission stood out among peers. As a former director at the seminary and current member of the Episcopal Church, Eric brings to his new assignment a level of resourcefulness and familiarity with our students, alumni/ae and other key constituents that will be especially useful in communicating our story and message.”
Previously, Eric was the Chief Development Officer at Any Baby Can. His 20+ year career in Communications and Fundraising has seen him hold positions at several prominent institutions in both Austin and New York City, including ZACH Theatre, Roundabout Theater, the Irish Repertory Theatre, as well as a previous stint at the seminary from 2013-2015.
