Worship with us during Holy Week

You are invited to join the Seminary of the Southwest community in worship during Holy Week.

Morning Prayer on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday is at 9:30 a.m. and Evening Prayer is at 5:00 p.m.

Holy Monday Eucharist at 11:45 a.m. The Very Rev. Cynthia Briggs Kittredge preaching and presiding

Holy Tuesday Eucharist at 11:45 a.m. The Rev. Al Rodriguez presiding; The Rev. Paul Barton preaching

Holy Tuesday Tenebrae at 7:30 p.m. The name Tenebrae (the Latin word for “darkness” or “shadows”) has for centuries been applied to the ancient monastic night and early morning services (Matins and Lauds) of the last three days of Holy Week, and it has come to be celebrated on the preceding evenings of the Triduum. It is a solemn service that illustrates the increasing darkness of entering into Holy Week, while having a reminder that the darkness cannot overcome the light.

Maundy Thursday Noonday service with Exhortation at 11:45 a.m.

Maundy Thursday Solemn Eucharist with washing of the feet and stripping of the altar at 5:30 p.m. The Rev. Nathan Jennings presiding, Dr. Dan Joslyn-Siemiatkoski preaching. Agape meal follows at 6:30 in the Howell Dining Hall.

Great Vigil of Easter at 8:00 p.m. The Very Rev. Cynthia Briggs Kittredge presiding and preaching. Easter Gala at 10:00 p.m. in the Howell Dining Hall
