On April 13, 2023, the Rev. Dr. Dominique Robinson, the John E. Hines Assistant Professor of Preaching, will be inaugurated into the Morehouse College Board of Preachers in the Martin Luther King Jr. College of Ministers and Laity. This auspicious group of scholars and preachers from various denominations and walks of faith assembles on the campus of Morehouse College yearly.
“I consider it a humbling honor to be considered worthy of induction into an internationally recognized cadre of preachers in that of the Morehouse Board of Preachers,” said Robinson. “As the first female and youngest AME Zionite to be awarded this honor, I recognize that I am carrying the sacred trust, rich legacy, and a justice-centered tradition of African American preaching; this is an honor I do not take lightly. I pray that I continue to please God, impact the kin-dom, make my ancestors and village proud, shape the lives of faith leaders by helping them find their preaching voice, and march to the drumbeat of God’s heart with grace and sass. Many thanks to the committee responsible for selecting me and my cheerleaders both near and far.”
“We celebrate the inauguration of Dr. Robinson into the Morehouse Board of Preachers,” said Dr. Scott Bader-Saye, Academic Dean. “This is a well-deserved honor! She is a rising star as a preacher and a teacher. Our students benefit every day from her knowledge and practical skill. I am happy to see her gifts celebrated widely.”
