Advent Meditations & Prayers from Seminary of the Southwest 2017

2017 Advent Meditations and Prayers

Dear Friends of Seminary of the Southwest,

I find that “concentration” and “focus” are rarer and rarer in our culture of multi-tasking and overwork. These short writings by members of our community give us a point of focus for each day of Advent. These writers have reflected on scripture in light of their own lives and in their own unique voices. Advent invites us to intentional reflection on the world around us and spiritual preparation for the feast of Christmas. May these meditations be a companion as you move through each day of the season, connecting you with the writer and with the wider community of Seminary of the Southwest.

I am grateful to the faithful alumni, students, faculty, staff, trustees, and friends of the Seminary for sharing themselves with us in these meditations and prayers.

Please pray for the world this Advent season, and pray that we at Seminary of the Southwest might continue to be equipped and supported by the Spirit to take our part in God’s healing mission.

We encourage you to read and listen to our community meditations and prayers online through the links below, and to share them with friends and family.

Wishing you and yours a blessed Advent and joyous Christmas.

Faithfully,
Cynthia Briggs Kittredge
Dean and President
