Southwest presents honorary doctorates and awards

Two alumni of Seminary of the Southwest, the Rt. Rev. David Bailey and the Rt. Rev. James Magness received honorary doctorates at the seminary's Alumni Convocation on September 25, 2012. Chair of the Board, Bishop Suffragan Dena Harrison of the Diocese of Texas presented the awards at Evensong in Christ Chapel on the Southwest campus.

Seminary celebrates six decades

Sixty years ago the diocese of Texas formally established Seminary of the Southwest in Austin. Southwest primarily has prepared men and women for parish and diocesan ministry; however, laity have found degrees and programs at Southwest to further their calls to minister in the world.
